When you are reliant on third parties paying for haulage from Swindon to Ukraine you have to be prepared to make arrangements for loading up to 20 tonnes of aid on very short notice.

SHAP are well used to responding to such challenges and with just 2 days notice around 15 dedicated volunteers turned up at SHAP’s warehouse last Monday (14/01/2024) to help load a 40 foot articulated lorry destined for Ukraine.

The truck arrived in Swindon very early on Monday (14/01/2024) and was loaded with 44 pallets of hygiene products at Neptune in Blagrove before arriving at the SHAP warehouse where several hundred boxes of food, candles, medical aid and bedding together with wheelchairs and walking aids were loaded by hand.

The truck left for Ukraine on Monday (14/01/2024) afternoon and should now be unloaded with the aid distributed to those who need it most. SHAP will continue to support Ukraine and Ukrainians for as long as they need our assistance.
